As I was browsing along some stunning photographs for inspirations, I came across these beautiful dynamic animated GIFs, which blew my mind! Apparently there’s a new style called Cinemagraphs, Cinemagraphs is basically still images that has living elements allowing a glimpse of time to be experienced and preserved. It uses a technique to blend the effects of images and videos. It was first introduced by a New York photographer Jamie Beck, in collaboration with motion graphics designer Kevin Burg. Since then it has been adopted by many photographers. Cinemagraphs files are typically GIF files making them easy to embed on websites.
