Ask any type artist, typography enthusiasts or anyone named Clint and they’ll tell you Kerning is important. Particularly when you are designing a banner or a billboard where things can look a little disjointed if seen from far.
Car insurance provider Esurance just learnt a painful and expensive lesson about typography through their latest advertising reading ‘cover your home in a click’.
Esurance quickly realized its mistake and pulled the billboards down:
